17/10/2011TABS attending Wordskills Premiere 2011

On the 5th October 2011, Kathryn Wood, Business Apprentice from Yeovil, travelled to London to represent Learn Direct and TABS Training at the WorldSkills Premiere Experience.

 

WorldSkills London is the biggest jobs and careers event in the world. It gives young people from more than 50 countries a chance to compete to be the best of the best - not just in one skill, but in 46 skills areas including robotics, web design, cookery, landscape gardening and many more.

 

Kathryn was accompanied by Nina Marsden and Gavin Hubbard- both from Learndirect, who were extremely helpful and made this day to be one of the best experiences of her life.

 

Kathryn about the event:

 

“The day made me realise just how important it is to be passionate about your role which you fulfil within your company. I was shocked to hear that there are over a million young people who are not in education or employment. I believe that WorldSkills inspires young people to complete work experience and inform them of pathways which do not involve completing University. They also helped to make employers realise how valuable it is for young people to receive an excellent insight whilst on work experience, and how apprenticeships can be just as valuable as degrees.”
